Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8

Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 is best described as a luxurious limousine designed in Italian style. The objective of the new Maserati model with four doors is to challenge other famous brands such as: BMW, Audi, Mercedes, and Jaguar. This sixth generation Quattroporte outruns its previous model that is nearly a decade old, as it weighs less, it is larger, faster, stronger and its fuel consumption is highly reduced than that of its forerunner.

As reported by Maserati itself, the new Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 is a clear contestant to the long-wheelbase options of the: 7 series, A8, S-class and XJ of the brands mentioned above. Maserati’s plan is to increase yearly worldwide sales from approximately 6,000 now to 50,000 by 2015. At fisrt, the Quattroporte will be sold only in the V8 engine (that produces 523 hp) version and in rear-drive, while later versions with V6 engines (that produce 404 hp) in all-wheel drive and rear-drive are going to be available in Europe, later this year.

Thanks to the fact that its aerodynamics have been improved, the Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 reaches a maximum speed of 190 mph, becoming, without any difficulty the fastest four-door model of the Maserati brand. Even though the car has been designed by Maserati, its V8 engine is made by Ferrari, an associated company of the Fiat Group. The 90-deegree unit with 3.8 liter direct injection has twin-scroll turbochargers.

In terms of interior design, the designers of the Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 have targeted one objective – which is simplicity – to match the spaciousness of the new Quattroporte model. A pair of standard dials is found in the back of the three-spoke steering wheel, and next to the dials is a LCD display. Its interior is made of leather and wood; the upper and lower parts of the instrument panel are divided by slabs of tree. The design of the seats and the decorations on the door are quite normal. The Quattroporte is available with two interior designs; one of them features an interior that has five seats and the other features an interior with four seats.

Even if it is a limo, the Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 is still a highly powerful car. Its three-spoke wheel delivers an unexpected road feel. Its outstanding balance and cornering grip are provided by the adjustable Skyhook damping system, typical 20-inch tires and 50/50 weight distribution. It will get you fast when you are late for a meeting, even if you are on the other cross of a mountain road.

Thinking this is the car for you? Then you should know that the price of the Maserati Quattroporte GTS V8 is £108,160 – on the road.
